Congressman Hice to present U.S. Service Academy appointments

Hice to Congratulate Georgia Military College Students on Military Academy Appointments

Congressman Jody Hice (GA-10) today announced that three students from Georgia Military College (GMC) have earned appointments to America’s Service Academies. GMC Prep Cadet Ethan Tolentino received an offer of appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Additionally, GMC Junior Corps (JC) Cadets Jack Calhoun and Heath McDonald received offers of appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Spring, Colorado. On Friday, April 23rd at 10:00 a.m., Congressman Hice will honor the students during joint signing ceremonies in the Legislative Chambers of the Old Capitol Building.

Each year, Congressman Hice is privileged to nominate eligible students for consideration for appointment to the United States Air Force, Naval, Military, and Merchant Marine academies. An academy appointment entitles a student to the equivalent of a full undergraduate scholarship, including room and board, medical and dental care, and a monthly pay allowance. Upon graduation from the academy, the student becomes a commissioned officer in the United States Armed Forces.
