We have plans to provide extensions and support for those affected with the goal of completing the term. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we’ll be flexible and supportive as we move forward. For those who cannot make it to campus, GMC will make every effort to work with you individually. Additionally, we are closely monitoring the development and potential impact of Hurricane Milton. At this time, the storm’s path is being tracked carefully, and there is no immediate cause for alarm in our area. However, we want to ensure that you are prepared and informed in case the situation changes. Your safety is our top priority, and we will communicate any necessary actions promptly on our website, through email, text, and social media as necessary. Learn More

Character of the Week (HS) – October 31

Character of the Week (HS) – October 31

Kristen Whipple – 12th grade
Nominated by Colonel Bob Owens

I would like to nominate Kristen Whipple for Character of the Week. She is always prepared for her class and duties within the cadet corps. She prepares her uniform to the highest standard. Kristen was informed before Sunday’s parade that her Junior Miss participation would not be considered an excusable absence. She never batted an eye, fully understood her obligation to the cadet corps and planned accordingly. Instead of whining about the need to be at the pageant she proceeded to plan to attend the Junior Miss practice session after the parade and make up any missed work required of that event. In the end, reconsideration was given for all our GMC participants and she was encouraged to go to the Junior Miss practice session with the other GMC participants. In conclusion, Kristen embodies the high standards that we recognize as important among our cadet corps. She sets the example, provides a role model and is always exemplary in the performance of her duties. As Battalion Executive Officer she is always prepared to step in for the Commander. She supervises the cadet primary staff to insure that their duties are fully understood and carried out. In part, she is one of the primary reasons that the cadet corps and staff is so highly regarded. Her overall contributions are to be commended. MAJ Kristen Whipple demonstrates character above all every day.
