Alumnus, “Mac” Kandji to play in USL-1 Championship

GMC Bulldog alumnus, Macoumba “Mac” Kandji, Midfielder (#27) for the Atlanta Silverbacks, will travel with his team to Seattle, Washington for the United Soccer League First Division (USL-1) Championship this weekend. Mac attended Georgia Military College from 2004 to 2005 and was named to the All-Region team following both seasons, and finished fourth in the region in scoring in 2005 after he scored 17 goals and tallied six assists for a total of 40 points. Mac joined the Silverbacks for the 2007 season and scored one of the penalty kicks for the Atlanta Silverbacks to seal the win against the Portland Timbers on September 23, sending the Silverbacks to the Championship game. The Silverbacks will make their USL-1 Championship match debut on Saturday night against the Seattle Sounders at 10:00 pm EST. The game will be broadcast live on the Fox Soccer Channel from the Starfire Sports Entertainment Complex.
