ABAC Nips GMC 2-0 With Two Second-Half Goals

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Two second-half goals by Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) broke a scoreless tie at halftime and pushed the Stallions on to a 2-0 win over Georgia Military College Friday at Robertson Field.

ABAC had taken a 1-0 win over GMC on August 22 and Friday’s game was just as competitive.

Both teams had scoring opportunities throughout this Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association contest before ABAC (5-3-1 overall, 4-3 GCAA) broke through on goals at 25:07 and 11:43 remaining in the second half.

GMC (2-6-2, 1-4-2) put eight shots on goal and had 18 total shots, but couldn’t find the back of the net.

Rachel Boohar (Oxford, Pa.) played well in goal for GMC and came up with 10 saves.

GMC is back in action next Friday when Georgia Perimeter College comes to Milledgeville for a 6 p.m. game at Robertson Field.
