A New Chapter Begins for Georgia Military College Men’s Soccer

Georgia Military College (GMC) proudly announces a new chapter in the history of its Junior College Men’s Soccer program. After 11 remarkable seasons, Head Coach Dave Sexton is officially retiring, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, growth, and championship success.

Coach Sexton’s tenure at GMC has been nothing short of legendary. Under his leadership, the Bulldogs Men’s Soccer Team secured an impressive nine Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Championships, including the most recent in 2024. A multi-time GCAA Coach of the Year, Sexton built a powerhouse program that garnered regional and national attention. His commitment to player development and team unity transformed GMC Men’s Soccer into a competitive and respected program.

As the program turns the page, GMC announces the appointment of Bobby Jaworski as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer Team, beginning July 1, 2025.

A proud GMC Prep School alumnus (c/o 2005) and former GMC Junior College football team kicker and punter, Jaworski brings a deep personal connection to the institution. After his time as a GMC student, he continued his playing career at The University of Tulsa before graduating from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 2009.

Since 2012, Jaworski has been a part of the GMC Prep School Boys Soccer Team coaching staff that has captured three state championships, with additional appearances in the state finals, semifinals, and quarterfinals. He also serves as the Board President of the Old Capital Soccer League, a treasured youth non-profit program that serves Baldwin County.

“We are incredibly grateful for all that Coach Sexton has accomplished here at Georgia Military College,” said GMC Junior College Athletic Director Rob Manchester. “He built a strong program with a legacy that will be felt for years to come. At the same time, we are excited to welcome Coach Jaworski—an alum, a proven leader, and a passionate coach who has already made a tremendous impact in our community. I have no doubt he will carry on the strong tradition of excellence while bringing new energy and vision to the program. The Bulldogs are fired up and ready for what’s next!”

As Georgia Military College salutes Coach Sexton’s exceptional career, the institution and community now rally around Coach Jaworski as he steps in to lead the Bulldogs to excellence!
