16th Will Robinson Run set

MILLEDGEVILLE — Deputy Will Robinson, a 1987 graduate of GMC High School, was killed in the line of duty Dec. 17, 1995, and is honored each year during the Will Robinson Memorial Run, set to take place Saturday, Nov. 19.

Co-sponsored by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Military College Alumni Association, the 16th annual 1 Mile Fun Run kicks off at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K Road Race begins at 9 a.m.

The starting line for both races is the North Baldwin Fire Department off Airport Road, and the 5K will follow Lakeport Road, turn right onto East Lakeview, right again onto Newport Road and finish at the starting line.

The 5K Road Race is broken down into age groups, starting at 10 and under. Trophies will be presented to the overall male and female runners, the top high school runner, and overall top public safety officer, which includes law enforcement officers, military, emergency services personnel, firefighters and emergency dispatchers. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be presented to the top three male and female runners of each age category.

Box 830, Milledgeville, GA 31059, along with a check for $15 payable to Deputy Will Robinson Memorial Run. Macon Tracks members receive a $1 discount when pre-registering. Race day registration is $10 and shirts sold separately for $15.
