Georgia Military College Welcomes Brandon Sellers as New Director of the Georgia Public Safety Leadership Institute (GPSLI)

Georgia Military College Welcomes Brandon Sellers as New Director of the Georgia Public Safety Leadership Institute (GPSLI)

Milledgeville, GA – Georgia Military College (GMC) is excited to announce Brandon Sellers as the new Director of the Georgia Public Safety Leadership Institute (GPSLI). Sellers brings over 24 years of exceptional law enforcement experience, including 16 years in supervisory and management capacities.

Prior to joining GMC, Sellers served as the Field Operations Commander for the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia, overseeing all day-to-day operations of sworn personnel units. A graduate of Georgia Military College and Georgia College with degrees in Criminal Justice, Sellers also holds a master’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University.

As Director of GPSLI, Sellers will lead efforts to prepare aspiring public safety professionals for success in law enforcement. A key component of GPSLI is its Public Safety Leadership Program (PSLP) inside of the Junior College Corps of Cadets.  PSLP is designed to cultivate leadership, character, and essential skills among cadets, equipping them with the tools necessary to excel as peace officers in Georgia. Sellers’ extensive qualifications, including Georgia P.O.S.T. Supervision and Management Certifications, specialized instructor certifications, and notable participation in law enforcement executive development programs, make him the ideal leader for this critical program.

The Public Safety Leadership Program at Georgia Military College offers a comprehensive two-year training curriculum. This curriculum not only prepares cadets to become mandated officers but also equips them with the skills, knowledge, and values necessary for success in their law enforcement careers. This comprehensive approach ensures that cadets are fully prepared to meet the challenges of their future roles.

Public Safety Cadets enrolled in the program receive specialized training from certified law enforcement professionals, covering a range of career-relevant topics such as leadership, character development, fitness, investigations, emergency vehicle operation, firearms proficiency, defensive tactics, and officer resiliency. Upon completion of the program, cadets earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice, positioning them for success as competent and ethical peace officers in Georgia.

“Under Brandon’s leadership, this program will continue to grow and develop, upholding our commitment to excellence in training and preparing the next generation of law enforcement professionals,” said Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, President of Georgia Military College. “His leadership and expertise will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission of developing exceptional leaders in public safety.”
