Order of Centurion

Submitted by: Cadet Captain Teala Watson

Georgia Military College held its annual Order of Centurion competition from May 4-6, 2006. The award is given to those cadets who possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, have no disciplinarily hours, score a 270 or above on the Army Physical Fitness Test, (the Army’s Fit-to- Fight Standard) and complete a 12 mile road march, with a 35-pound rucksack, in three hours or less (the Army’s Expert Infantryman’s Standards).

This year’s competition began with 10 candidates. Of those who began, only three successfully completed the competition. They were C/LTC Jared Smith, C/SFC Henry Robertson and C/Clifford Burns. These cadets received their awards at the Georgia Military College annual Military Ball on May 6, 2006.

While receiving their awards, the Centurions were further congratulated by other Centurions, who received the award in 2005. They are C/CSM Sam Gagliano, Cadet Justin Cajero, C/LTC Matthew Ivey, and Cadet James Morgan.
