GMC’s Prep students receive national academic recognition

 

Georgia Military College (GMC) Prep School Cadets Andy Watkins and Braxton Gise have been named Commended Students in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered in the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Five GMC Prep School students were also recently named “Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars” by the CollegeBoard after the processing of the May 2016 AP test.  The designation of an “AP Scholar” is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. The Class of 2017 students are Alyssa Easley, Braxton Gise, Megan Leben, Andy Watkins, and Jack Watkins.
