GMC-Warner Robins Phi Tehta Kappa & Student Government Association Students Host Blood Drive

On September 4, 2018 the Warner Robins campus of Georgia Military College hosted its biannual Red Cross blood drive. The campus collected 50 units of blood which has the potential to save 150 lives! Warner Robins students came out in droves to support this important community outreach in a time when the Red Cross is in critical shortage. Many faculty explained the importance of blood donation in helping cancer patients in our area in desperate need of blood. The students showed their concern by waiting for hours to donate. In addition to our students, the community showed up to support the cause. Visitors from local businesses and Robins Air Force Base came to donate in support.

If students were not able to donate, they showed their love for the community by volunteering their time to help set up and breakdown the blood drive. Some students helped donors sign in or work the canteen area so that the donors could refresh after their donations. Warner Robins students showed their support to each other and community members by standing nearby and comforting nervous first time donors.

The Red Cross reports that the biannual Warner Robins blood drive is one of its more successful drives in support and donation in colleges its size. The Warner Robins campus of Georgia Military College is once again proud to support its community in this charitable endeavor. The next blood drive and Health Fair will be held in February 2019.
