GMC tops military junior colleges at annual 1st Brigade Ranger Challenge

Annual 1st Brigade Ranger Challenge

On October 23 – 24, 2015, GMC’s Ranger Challenge Team traveled to Fort Knox, Ky. and competed against Senior Military and Junior Military Teams in the 1st Brigade, Cadet Command Annual Ranger Challenge Competition.  The competition featured mentally and physically demanding events including, an Army Physical Fitness Test, Rifle Marksmanship and Tactical Shoot, Land Navigation, the “Fit Factory,” Obstacle Course, Weapons Knowledge under chemical conditions, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Water Crossing (One Rope Bridge), Grenade Assault Course, and the Commander’s Challenge.  In a competition that spanned 36 hours, the cadets traveled over 18 miles with a full combat load under adverse environmental conditions.  GMC’s Team, under the leadership of Team Captain, Cadet Daniel Halpern, placed first among all military junior colleges and above two senior military college teams.
