GMC Tops Military Junior Colleges at 27th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March

The Military Science Department is pleased to announce that GMC ROTC Teams placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd among all 10 Military Junior College Bataan Memorial Death March Heavy (Army Combat Uniform with 35 lb rucksack) Teams.  In addition, GMC’s top team placed 3rd among all 44 ROTC Heavy competitive teams, and 4th out of 118 total competing teams.  The Light Division team (Army Physical Fitness Uniform, no rucksack) also performed extremely well, placing 5th out of all ROTC Light teams.  The Bataan Memorial Death March is a grueling 26.2 mile foot race through the mountains of White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, and honors the tens of thousands of American and Filipino Soldiers who marched over 70 years ago after being captured by Japanese forces.
