GMC Honors Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams’ Golfers Ross Tetrault and Hannah Craig Earn Top Honor
On Monday, May 12, Georgia Military College celebrated its men’s and women’s golf teams at their annual Mason Cup Ceremony. They recognized the accomplishments of the teams and honored the Sophomores for their dedication and contributions. They also awarded the coveted Mason Cup.
GMC sophomores Hannah Craig and Ross Tetrault were in this year’s Mason Cup. The Mason Cup is named for Harold Mason, a longtime GMC supporter, donor, and golf enthusiast. The Mason Cup is given to a deserving individual on the Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams who best represents the game of golf and Georgia Military College’s “Character Above All.” Hannah posted the lowest scoring average on the team this season and had one runner-up finish. Ross won three events over his collegiate career and was the men’s team’s lowest scoring average with multiple rounds under par.
Head Coach Kirk Kayden led the ceremony, highlighting the accomplishments of both the Men’s and Women’s teams, including the men’s team winning their ninth Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association Championship. GMC also celebrated its sophomores: Tallie Ray, Hannah Craig, Gehrig Massey, Brady Wentz, Landon Lyon, and Ross Tetault, who will be moving on after their time at GMC. Each of these athletes has significantly contributed to the legacy of GMC’s Golf Programs.
Our men’s team is not yet done, as the team will compete in the NJCAA DIII National Championship that will begin on June 3. The team will be gunning for its fourth National Championship.
