Georgia Military College is announcing the student selections for their exclusive Executive Leadership Program (ELP) for Summer 2017. The students who have been selected are: Alex Bradley, Annie Benson, Maxwell Hopkins, Andrew Weimer, Andrew Watkins, Reagan Thornton, and Wyatt Spivey. The Executive Leadership Program was created to give graduating seniors from the Preparatory School the opportunity to work a paid fellowship at the institution during the summer after their graduation. During this time, the selected graduates have the opportunity to learn and work under the direction of the College’s senior managers. The goal is to give these new graduates a brief orientation about how Georgia Military College operates on an enterprise-wide level before transitioning to work in a department of their choice within the institution. This year the selected students will work in one of the following departments: Academic Support Services, Resource Management, Information Technology, Marketing and Athletics.

Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, president of GMC, commented on the program, “This program was started three years ago with the intent to give rising seniors great tutelage from our senior leadership team. It’s a great opportunity to expose them to our business operations, help them build their resume, make some money during the summer, and when they finish the program, know they have resources here to help them continue on their path.”

Jill Robbins, GMC’s Vice President of Human Resources, organized the program and says it has been a huge success. “This has been a fantastic program,” said Robbins. “Senior Managers compete to have these exceptional students work in their office. They bring fresh ideas with their great attitudes. It’s definitely one of the most rewarding programs I get to be a part of!”

This year’s ELP starts June 1, 2017.
