Sign Memorandum of Understanding

MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – Georgia Military College (GMC) and St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy (SJNMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding that establishes a formal academic transfer mechanism between GMC and SJNMA. Its purpose is so that any student who graduates from SJNMA with a general, college preparatory or technical diploma is guaranteed admission into GMC provided that the student meets the agreement requirements. This is GMC’s eighth Memorandum of Understanding, including agreements with Riverside Military Academy, North Valley Military Institute, Admiral Farragut Academy, Oak Ridge Military Academy, Fishburne Military School, Massanutten Military Academy, Hargrave Military Academy, and now St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy.

This agreement formally recognizes that GMC and SJNMA are committed to the establishment of an educational partnership to better serve currently enrolled and future students at both institutions. Both parties agree to exercise due diligence in providing as smooth a transition as possible for students who elect to attend GMC following graduation from SJNMA.

Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, USA (Ret.), President of Georgia Military College, says this agreement provides a great opportunity for SJNMA graduates.

“Being able to offer post-secondary educational opportunities to anyone and everyone that wants to earn a college degree is our passion at GMC,” Caldwell said. “Through this partnership with St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy, their graduates will be able to make a smooth transition from high school to college. It’s so important to continue your education and we’re excited for SJNMA cadets to join us at GMC to further their education, identify a career path for themselves, and work to become leaders that will shape our nation’s future.”

Dr. Eric Wozniak, Headmaster of St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy, says creating a seamless transition from high school to college is in the best interest of HMA graduates.

“The partnership between St. John’s Northwestern and Georgia Military College provides our students with excellent post-high school options to continue their pursuit of excellence in education and leadership, in a structured cadet living experience,” Wozniak said. “Whether their goals involve admission to a service academy, military service, or leadership in business and industry, SJNMA students have the advantage of a smooth and effective pathway to realizing their future through our relationship with GMC.

The Memorandum of Understanding between GMC and SJNMA goes into effect immediately.
