Georgia Military College and Hargrave Military Academy Sign Memorandum of Understanding
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – Georgia Military College (GMC) and Hargrave Military Academy (HMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding that establishes a formal academic transfer mechanism between GMC and HMA. Its purpose is so that any student who graduates from HMA with a general, college preparatory or technical diploma is guaranteed admission into GMC provided that the student meets the agreement requirements. This is GMC’s seventh Memorandum of Understanding, including agreements with Riverside Military Academy, North Valley Military Institute, Admiral Farragut Academy, Oak Ridge Military Academy, Fishburne Military School, Massanutten Military Academy, and now Hargrave Military Academy.
This agreement formally recognizes that GMC and HMA are committed to the establishment of an educational partnership to better serve currently enrolled and future students at both institutions. Both parties agree to exercise due diligence in providing as smooth a transition as possible for students who elect to attend GMC following graduation from HMA.
Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, USA (Ret.), President of Georgia Military College, says this agreement provides a great opportunity for HMA graduates.
“Partnering with Hargrave Military Academy solidifies our commitment to offering post-secondary educational opportunities to anyone and everyone that wants to earn a college degree,” Caldwell said. “Hargrave graduates will be able to make an easy transition from high school to college because of this partnership and there’s a lot to be said for that. We’re thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to Hargrave Military Academy graduates.”
Colonel Michael Brown, USMC (Ret.), President of Hargrave Military Academy, says creating a seamless transition from high school to college is in the best interest of HMA graduates.
“This partnership between GMC and Hargrave allows our cadets to make a seamless transition from a college prep school into the collegiate environment,” Brown said. “The similarities between our two institutions will position our graduates for the greatest success at the collegiate level. We are thrilled to partner with GMC and provide this opportunity to our cadets.”
The Memorandum of Understanding between GMC and HMA goes into effect immediately.
