Dylan Resha – (CotW) ALTRUISM
Georgia Military College Prep School recognizes Dylan Resha for earning the
Character of the Week Award in demonstrating the virtue of Altruism.
“During life science class, the students were constructing pie graphs and bar graphs to show cell composition. As a class, we reviewed how to use a protractor to accurately measure each section of the pie graph. Most students completed their graphs during class time; however, they were instructed that any work not completed in class would have to be done as homework. Dylan Resha is an excellent math student and understood well the geometry behind making pie graphs. But rather than completing the task, he instead devoted much of his class time to tutoring his fellow group members on how to use a protractor. I greatly appreciated his help as it allowed me to assist other students in the class. Moreover, I admire him for exemplifying self-sacrifice in placing his peers’ needs before himself.”
