Columbus SGA Helps Muscogee Students

The first fundraising project of the SGA administration of 2009-2010 has been completed with resounding success!!!

The newly elected SGA officers decided from the very beginning of their terms that they wanted to help the Columbus community. Knowing that some students struggle to purchase school supplies for each new school year, the GMC Columbus SGA set a goal to provide every single student attending Muscogee Elementary this fall with school supplies. They spearheaded this project, from meeting with school officials to meeting with potential donors, to hosting a car wash, the SGA members set out to raise a lot of money for this project!

In total, the SGA raised $900 and was able to hand out supplies to the students this past week. Let me repeat that- the SGA raised NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS for school supplies for Muscogee Elementary students. That is incredible work!

This was an extremely large project. The SGA members and the entire GMC community who helped by donating time, materials or funds did an amazing job raising the money and putting forth so much effort to make sure that the students of Muscogee Elementary have a great start to their school year.

Thank you to everyone and especially those SGA members who worked so hard to make this happen! Stayed tuned for other great projects GMC will be involved with to help out our community.
