Campus Safety at GMC
Your Security. Our Commitment.
Georgia Military College is dedicated to maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every member of our community. As part of that commitment, GMC complies fully with the Jeanne Clery Act, ensuring transparency around campus crime, safety procedures, and available resources across all GMC locations.
The Clery Act empowers students, families, and employees with the information they need to stay informed and protected.
Annual Security & Fire Safety Report
Each year before October 1, GMC publishes its Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASFSR), which includes:
- Crime statistics from the previous three years
- Fire safety data for on‑campus housing
- Campus safety policies and procedures
- Emergency response and prevention information
The report is available online, with printed copies available upon request.
Timely Warnings & Emergency Notifications
When safety concerns arise, GMC issues Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications to keep the campus community informed and prepared. These alerts help you take quick, protective action when needed.
Support for Victims
Victims of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking have specific rights under the Clery Act. Click here for more information https://www.gmc.edu/title-ix-nondiscrimination-and-harassment/
GMC provides:
- Supportive measures and accommodations
- Assistance reporting to law enforcement
- Access to counseling and legal services
- Fair, prompt, and transparent disciplinary processes
Hazing Prevention & Transparency
GMC maintains a zero‑tolerance policy for hazing in alignment with the federal Stop Campus Hazing Act and Georgia’s Max Gruver Act. Hazing threatens student well‑being and violates our core values of respect, leadership, and integrity.
Students, faculty, and staff are required to report hazing or suspected hazing. Reports may be submitted anonymously.
To promote transparency and accountability:
- GMC publishes a Campus Hazing Transparency Report detailing violations, investigations, and sanctions.
- Hazing statistics will be included in the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report starting October 1, 2026.
These measures strengthen our commitment to student safety and ethical leadership.
Academic Excellence.
