American Soldier
The first episode of the series, American Soldier, will premier on Country Music Television (CMT) Saturday, November 26, 2005, at 9:30 p.m. The series chronicles a Georgia National Guard battalion (from Dublin) as they are called to serve a tour of duty in Iraq, following a group of four weekend warriors who are unexpectedly called to make the ultimate sacrifice for God and country. It\’s a band of brothers for our times — an intimate, revealing, real-time look at a group of tightly knit soldiers preparing, deploying and finally fighting through the triumph and torment of war-torn Iraq.
The show will also follow the lives of their families, friends, and co-workers back home in Georgia, as they grasp to cope with the uncertainty of their soldiers\’ fates and the day-to-day difficulties of living without their fathers, husbands and friends.
