Georgia Military College’s (GMC) Valdosta campus continues to produce educated citizens with 12 of its high school students graduating in the Spring and Summer terms with an Associate’s degree. These students enrolled in the dual enrollment program, known as the “Move On When Ready” (MOWR) program, at GMC. This program gives high school students the affordable opportunity to get a jump start on their college education and receive college credit.

Dr. Leslie Hafer, Executive Director of the Valdosta Campus for Georgia Military College stated, “The Move On When Ready program is an excellent opportunity for our area high school students to earn college credit. We are fortunate to have such wonderful educational partners as Valdosta High School and Lowndes High School. Their commitment to the MOWR program enables hundreds of high school students to take advantage of this program each year. Their commitment is so strong that many high school students have earned enough credit to complete an Associate degree. GMC Valdosta is proud to partner with these high schools and others in our region to serve the students of our community.”

The Principals at Valdosta High School (VHS) and Lowndes High School (LHS) say their dual enrollment partnership with GMC has been beneficial to their students.

“VHS is proud to have a partnership with Georgia Military College to provide “Move On When Ready” college courses that affords our students the opportunity to earn college and high school credits,” said Dr. Janice Richardson, Valdosta High School Principal. “We are proud of the many students who will be graduating with both their high school diploma as well as an Associate’s degree. These students are ahead of their futures because of this endeavor.”

“We believe the Move On When Ready (MOWR) program provides Lowndes High School students with an opportunity to excel at a high level,” said LeAnne McCall, Lowndes High School Principal. “Certainly when students graduate with an Associate’s Degree as well as a high school diploma, they are charting their course for success. We are proud of all of our graduates in the Class of 2017 and wish them well in their future endeavors.”

These students will receive their Associate’s Degree during GMC-Valdosta’s graduation ceremony on May 26, at the Mathis City Auditorium in Valdosta. GMC-Valdosta’s dual enrollment graduates are:
