Super Wednesday to be September 5

On Wednesday, September 5, 2007, Georgia Military College will welcome the newest members of the 129th Corps of Cadets, during its annual Super Wednesday. The first-time junior college cadets will begin processing in the mini-gym of Cordell Events Center where they will meet with representatives of Admissions, Military Science, and Campus Police.

In the mini-gym, the Office of Student Activities, who coordinates the event, will showcase campus offerings to include intramural activities and various organizations and clubs. Local banks, business and organizations, to include faith based groups will be present in Cordell Events Center to welcome the families to this area and present them with handouts, gifts, and information about their services.

After meeting with officials from Academic Support, Medical Services and the Commandant of Cadets, the students travel to Parham Hall, the New Academic building and other designated areas. During the day they will meet with representatives from Finance, Registrar, and Financial Aid and complete their journey at the GMC Bookstore where they will receive their ditty bag.

Once the in-processing steps are completed, they will be welcomed into the battalion, receive a room assignment in Baugh Barracks, and the plebe-period will begin. The final orientation for fall quarter will be held on Monday, September 10, and classes will begin on Wednesday, September 12.
