Mrs. Boylan Teaches Sewing Skills

Submitted by: Maj. Amy Lee

From home improvement projects to sewing pillowcases for troops deployed in Iraq—female cadets at Georgia Military Prep School have learned it all in Life Skills for Girls this quarter taught by Major Jennifer Santarone and Major Amy Lee. Female cadets in grades 9-12 were able to take the Life Skills course that taught them table etiquette, skin care, home improvement, flower arranging and planting, sewing, and stitching. For their final project, Mrs. Kathy Boylan taught the girls how to sew and stitch pillowcases. They learned this skill not only for their own personal improvement, but it also enabled them to donate the pillowcases they made to troops deployed in Iraq.
