JC Golf Finishes 6th in Nation

Submitted by Coach Sonny Harmon: Georgia Military College finished 6th in the Nation,at theNJCAA Division III National Golf Tournament, held at Chautauqua, NY. The boys shot their lowest round of the year and the third lowest at Nationals, a scorching 300. Patrick McBride had a 69 the final day (the lowest round shot in this year’s national tournament) whileAmerson had a 79, Lewis a 76 and Herndon a 76. Keep in mind you play five players each round and can eliminate one score. These boys have a lot to be proud of this year. A sixth place finish is impressive, when you consider the hundreds of D III programs active today. They finished the year with their best effort (300) and that certainly says something about the character of this team. They also conducted themselves in a manner in which GMC can be proud, keeping the van spotless throughmany days of travel, cleaning the condo prior to playing the final round and being excellent”ambassadors” for the college whileplaying their rounds.
