Heisman Trophy Winner Herschel Walker visits Georgia Military College

Heisman Trophy Winner Herschel Walker visits Georgia Military College

All-American football player and Heisman Trophy winner, Herschel Walker, visited Georgia Military College’s Main Campus for the first time on Tuesday. Walker is known for his football career at the University of Georgia, his Heisman Trophy award, and for being one of the greatest college football players of all time, but he is also a successful businessman and advocate for mental health with a dynamic message to share with this generation of future leaders and student-athletes.

GMC Junior College and Prep School student-athletes had the opportunity to attend a speaking engagement with Walker where he spoke about how even great adversity and challenges couldn’t keep him from reaching his goals. Hearing Walker’s uplifting message was an incredible opportunity and allowed GMC students to sharpen their leadership and adaptability skills.

After posing for photos with University of Georgia football fans, Walker ended his visit with a cheerful Dog Walk, a GMC tradition that celebrates athletics and fine arts achievements. Given his status as an All-American football player and Heisman Trophy winner, the students and staff were excited to celebrate his athletic accomplishments. Walker was led by the GMC Prep Bulldog Brigade Band down GMC’s historic bricks with GMC faculty, staff, and students cheering him on.

Walker joins the continually growing list of leaders that have visited Georgia Military College to address our students and provide leadership training which is a unique benefit that GMC provides for its student-body.
