GMC’s Prep School One Act are back to back state champions. They won the Georgia High School Association’s (GHSA) State Championship One Act play with their performance of The Wedding Singer at Bleckley County High School on November 5th. GMC competed against 8 schools representing GHSA’s 8 Areas. Wyatt Spivey won State Best Actor, Kelsie Farley won State Best Actress, and Max Hopkins and Andy Watkins won All Star Cast Awards.

“We are incredibly proud of our students,” said Mark Weaver, GMC’s Prep School Fine Arts Director.       “They performed the best show of the season at the state competition and brought the audience to their feet. We would like to thank the entire GMC family for supporting our students and the arts.”

The cast successfully defended their 2015 title and now have the distinction of being 3-time state champions in One Act Play- having won in 2013 and 2015. The Fine Arts department is now focusing on their Christmas Fine Arts Showcase titled Winter Dreams, the middle school musical Aladdin, and defending their State Championship on Literary for GHSA, and the spring musical in April.
