GMC Family Raises Money for Animals

(Milledgeville, GA) July 1, 2003 – GMC business office staff members, Carol Leverette and Laura Cowell, and Vought employee, Brian Veal (husband of Lee Veal, GMC Assistant Controller), presented a check for $1269.12 to Bobbie Thompson, President, Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. (ARF) on Friday, June 29, 2003. The trio raised the money by selling 264 tubs of cookie dough to their coworkers and friends. Orders and contributions continue to come in from community members who want to help the homeless animals. Carol Leverette said, “Old Capitol Trophies recently donated a plaque that Laura and I intended to purchase, ourselves, to reward Brian for being the top fundraiser. I was so surprised and grateful, when the owners said that there would be no charge. We have also received thank you notes from members of the community who have a place in their hearts for these special animals.”
Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt humane society serving central Georgia. ARF’s main purposes include finding responsible permanent homes as family pets for abandoned animals, encouraging spaying and neutering of all pets, and educating the public on the proper care and treatment of animals.
