Georgia Military College signs articulation and collaboration agreement with Southern Crescent Tech

On September 29, Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell IV, President of Georgia Military College (GMC), and Dr. Randall L. Peters, President of Southern Crescent Technical College (SCTC) signed an agreement to formally recognize that both schools are committed to the establishment of an educational partnership to better serve currently enrolled and future students at both institutions.  The two institutions have entered into an Articulation Agreement in support of Complete College Georgia to assist and promote the transferability of the Associate of Applied Science degrees from SCTC to the Bachelor of Applied Science degrees at GMC with a major in Business Management, Supervision and Management, Allied Health, and Film Arts.

The agreement states that any Southern Crescent Technical College student who graduates from Southern Crescent with an Associate of Applied Science degree is guaranteed admission into Georgia Military College’s Bachelor of Applied Science program, with complete transferability of all courses.  Further both schools pledge their support for future collaborative efforts to support the economic and workforce development needs of the communities each serve.

Lt. Gen. Caldwell noted that, “With today’s commitment, GMC is excited to continue to be a part of the effort to support Governor Nathan Deal’s Complete College Georgia initiative, which directly supports the needs of students who desire an education to further their goals.  This articulation agreement with SCTC is our 38th with colleges and universities in Georgia, and we will continue to pursue agreements to provide as many opportunities as possible for our students.”

Dr. Peters stated, “I am confident that this agreement is in the best interests of both institutions, and that, long term, together GMC and SCTC will provide opportunities that simply do not exist today for our students otherwise.  I look forward to a long and productive partnership with Georgia Military College.”
