Georgia Military College High School Students Do Their Duty for Their Country

(Milledgeville, GA) May 20, 2003 – Three Georgia Military College high school students recently performed their patriotic duty, by registering to vote. Mrs. Brenda Brown, GMC Community Service Coordinator and a Baldwin County Certified Deputy Registrar for GMC, registered Sam Downer, Sarah Meeks and Drake Benton, who are all within six months of their eighteenth birthday. Registering early begins the process so that they will be eligible to vote, with their Voter’s Registration Card in hand, as soon as they turn eighteen. Mrs. Brown said that throughout this school year, roughly 40 GMC high school and junior college students have taken advantage of the opportunity to register to vote on campus.
