4-year Army ROTC scholarships awarded to Georgia Military College Prep School students

On December 7, GMC Prep seniors Chase Rauhut, Chase Sheffield, and Jack Watkins were awarded 4-year Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) scholarships and signed their offer letters to continue post-secondary education at the school of their choice.

Chase Rauhut has been awarded a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship to the University of Alabama where he will major in Accounting. Rauhut wants to commission as an active duty Army officer. At GMC Prep, he is the Company Commander of Delta Co, 2nd Battalion. He is also the State Secretary for the Georgia Association Student Councils and is involved on the raider and track teams.

Chase Sheffield has been awarded a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship to the University of Tennessee where he will double major in Mechanical Engineering and Business Management. Sheffield wants to commission as a reserves Army officer. He also plans someday to run for political office or seek an executive position in a Fortune 500 company. At GMC Prep, Sheffield is the 2nd Battalion Executive Officer and is involved in the Student Government Association, raiders, football, and golf teams.

Jack Watkins has been awarded a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship to Ohio State University where he will major in Health Information Management and Systems with a premedical professional program of study. Watkins wants to commission as an active duty Army officer and plans to go to medical school to become a neurosurgeon after the completion of his bachelor’s study and make a long career serving in the Army Medical Corps. At GMC Prep, Watkins is the Raider Commander, 2nd Battalion, and is involved on the raider, baseball, and golf teams. He is also an Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar and recipient of the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) Camp Commander’s award.
