Fourteen GMC 7th grade cadets were recently recognized by Duke University’s Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) and qualified for state recognition by achieving scores at the 95th percentile or higher on a recent grade-level test. The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving academically gifted and talented youth. As a world leader in gifted and talented education, Duke TIP works with students, their families, and educators to identify, recognize, challenge, engage, and help students reach their highest potential. These students are permitted to take the SAT or ACT at an early date, which gives them the opportunity not only to preview a test they will take later on for college admission, but also to gain valuable insight into their academic abilities.
