A Message from the President of Georgia Military College

At Georgia Military College, our priority is to provide an environment that fosters student success and for our students to complete their educational goals. Our motto is “Start Here…Go Anywhere!” A significant part of supporting our students is ensuring our campuses’ overall safety and health. We are truly grateful to our GMC Campus Police, campus security at our other locations and local law enforcement agencies that support us in our efforts to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our students.

GMC was founded in 1879 with the unique mission to provide a character-based education for young men and women in Georgia. Our mission has remained the same for 144 years, with the values of duty, honor, and love of county as the bedrock of our character-based mission. When GMC was established, it was in Milledgeville, Georgia, and enrolled 121 young men and women. Today, our footprint has grown to 8 campus/satellite locations and a global online leadership college serving approximately 12,000 students annually. In Milledgeville, our Preparatory School serves grades K-12 and our GMC Main Campus serves our only residential students in the College Corps of Cadets, and a commuter student population that traditionally comes from the middle Georgia area. The Main Campus is the only campus with robust student activities and nine NJCAA athletics programs for Men’s and Women’s sports. The other eight locations are strategically located around military bases in Georgia in order to focus on serving military veterans and their dependents.

It takes a collaborative team approach to provide a safe and healthy learning environment, and we appreciate everything our GMC family does to do just that. Please take the time to review the contents of this report so that you and others are more aware of safety in your daily life. If you know of any unsafe situation at any GMC location or operations, please immediately contact our Campus Police Department at the Main Campus, your Campus Director, or local law enforcement and emergency management services in your area.
