Admissions Requirements
Georgia Military College, is dedicated to helping you be as successful as you can possibly be. Whether you enroll as a commuter student or as a cadet, you will find a program that fits your needs and life goals. Below you will find helpful information that will aid and assist you in deciding which student type is right for you. First-time Freshmen - Students who have never attended a college must furnish GMC the following:
- A completed application with the non-refundable application fee of $35.00.
- An official copy of the high school transcript showing date of graduation or official copy of equivalency certificate based upon General Educational Development (GED) scores.
- Home-schooled student applicants must submit a combined SAT score of 1000 (Critical Reading and Math portion only) or ACT composite score of 19 in addition to a transcript reflecting the course work completed, an abbreviated bibliography of textbooks and/or assigned readings and a writing sample.
- Complete FAFSA Federal Application for Federal Student Aid
- Complete Georgia Futures Tuition Equalization Grant (Only GA residents)
- Submit College Cadet Medical forms
Transfer Students - Students who have attended any other college must furnish GMC the following:
- A completed application with the non-refundable application fee of $35.00.
- An official transcript sent directly from each and every college, technical school or university previously attended.
- Official documents for service schools, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) General Subjects examinations, USAFI/DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) examinations, etc.
- Transfer applicants who have completed fewer than 10-quarter hours of regular college level work must also meet all requirements for freshman admission.
- It is recommended that transfer students wishing to use financial aid resources while enrolled at GMC submit an official high school transcript regardless of the number of hours previously earned.
- Complete FAFSA Federal Application for Federal Student Aid
- Complete Georgia Futures Tuition Equalization Grant (Only GA residents)
- Submit College Cadet Medical forms
Transient Students - Students attending another college but planning to enroll in one or more courses for one quarter must furnish GMC the following:
- A completed application with non-refundable application fee of $35.00.
- A transient permission letter or copy of Serviceman's Opportunity College (SOC) agreement from parent institution and, for veterans only, proof of enrollment certification from parent college.
- Complete FAFSA Federal Application for Federal Student Aid
- Complete Georgia Futures Tuition Equalization Grant (Only GA residents)
- Submit College Cadet Medical forms
United States Service Academy Preparatory Programs (GMC Scholars Program) - Students Selected by any of the Service Academy for their preparatory program.

Early Commissioning Program ROTC:
In addition to requirements for freshman or transfer admission, applicants for the Early Commissioning Program must also meet the following requirements:
- Be a US Citizen
- Earn a High School Diploma with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
- A combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1000 or composite ACT score of 19
- Meet height and weight standards for entrance into Advanced ROTC program
- Pass a standard Army Physical Examination
- Pass the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT)
- Have one of the following levels of military knowledge:
- Complete the Leaders Training Course at Ft. Knox, KY prior to enrollment at GMC.
- Complete Basic Training and/or AIT though Active or Reserve component training.
- Complete FAFSA Federal Application for Federal Student Aid
- Complete Georgia Futures Tuition Equalization Grant (Only GA residents)
- Submit College Cadet Medical forms
State Service Scholarship:
In addition to requirements for freshman or transfer admission, applicants for the State Service Scholarship must also meet the following requirements:
- Letter of recommendation from their state legislator
- Be a resident of Georgia
- Minimum 2.5 high school GPA
- Minimum combined critical reading and math SAT of 800 or ACT Composite of 17
- Meet Georgia Army National Guard mental and physical standards
- Agree to serve as an enlisted member of the Georgia National Guard
- Be accepted for admission by GMC
- Participate in the Army ROTC Program at GMC
- Complete FAFSA Federal Application for Federal Student Aid
- Complete Georgia Futures Tuition Equalization Grant
- Submit College Cadet Medical forms
Civic Leader Program:
Same requirements as for freshman or transfer admission
Football Cadet Program:
Same requirements as for freshman or transfer admission
