Mandatory Rehearsal: Thursday, May 23rd, 2019 @ 10:00 am
- Graduates please check in by 9:15 am (we will begin at 10:00 am)
Commencement Ceremony: Friday, May 24th, 2019 @ 10:00 am
- Graduates will line up at 8:30 am. PLEASE BE ON TIME

DATES and DEADLINES:
Graduation application deadline (If participating in the ceremony):
Friday, May 1st 2019
Students must be scheduled to graduate no later than 2019 summer and be pre-registered for their summer courses to participate in the upcoming ceremony.
- Cap and Gown deadline:
The cost to order your cap and gown is $25 until April 12th. After this deadline the cost will increase to $50.

CAP AND GOWN INFORMATION
- In order to participate in commencement students are required to wear a black gown, cap and GMC 2019 tassel.
- All graduates that are part of the corps of cadets will wear the Class A uniform, short sleeve shirt.
- Proper attire is required of all students participating in the ceremony. Ladies please wear dark shoes; low heels are strongly encouraged. Gentlemen please wear dark shoes and trousers (no shorts). Please avoid wearing bright colors.
- No decorations may be placed on your graduation caps
Students will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony if they are not attired appropriately.

- • Online: Online ordering will be available: February 1- April 12th.

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and no grades of D or lower and will have met the GMC residency requirements will graduate with honors and receive an Honor Cord from GMC on graduation day.

GENERAL CEREMONY INFORMATION
Location: GMC Activity Center, 29 Jones Drive, Milledgeville, GA
Tickets: Tickets are not required for GMC commencement. Seating is general seating. Doors will open for seating at 8:30 a.m.
Parking: There will be plenty of parking and security will be directing
Disability Services: Handicapped seating will be available. If you or your guests require special assistance, please notify Celes Mason @ email@example.com or 478 387- 4718.
Commencement Program: If you submitted your graduation application by Friday, May 1st 2019 your name will be included in the commencement program.
Name Cards: Each student will receive a 3x5 card with your name, degree, and accolades listed. The student will give the name card to the announcer as you step onto the stage.
Name Pronunciation: The correct pronunciation of your name is important. If your name is routinely mispronounced please contact the commencement reader for your degree program during graduation practice.
Diplomas: When you walk across the stage you will receive a generic diploma cover. It will not contain your diploma. Participating in the ceremony does not guarantee that all degree requirements have been satisfied nor that the student has graduated. Diplomas are mailed to the address listed by the student on the graduation application following receipt of final grades and verification of the completion of all degree requirements by the Registrar's Office. All requirements must be satisfied by the last day of the quarter in which the degree is to be awarded. This process normally takes 6-8 weeks following the end of the term. If you have already received your diploma in the mail, please leave it at home.
Diplomas will arrive in a diploma tube with the GMC seal. If you would like a diploma cover, then you will need to stop by the campus and pick one up from Ms. Davis located in Zell Miller Hall 113. Diploma covers will not be mailed.
Guests/Friends/Family – Attending Ceremony: Air Horns, noise makers and balloons will not be permitted inside the GMC Activity Center. Any guest having these items will be asked to remove them from the center and placed on the table in the entrance area.
Recessional: The ceremony is not complete until the platform party and faculty and students recess. As a show of respect, students are to remain standing at their seats until they recess out of the ceremony area. Students will recess out of the building. Please meet your family and friends outside after the ceremony.
*** Please limit the number of personal belongings that you bring, as there will be nowhere to store it.
