GMC-Milledgeville awards 22 scholarships to community graduates

Georgia Military College Awards 22 Scholarships to Graduating Seniors in Baldwin County

Georgia Military College’s Milledgeville campus, GMC’s hometown community college, recognizes the need to invest in the future leaders of our community, right here in Baldwin County. GMC-Milledgeville awarded 10 scholarships to graduating seniors from high schools in the Milledgeville-Baldwin community including Baldwin County High School, GMC Prep School, John Milledge Academy, and homeschool students.

“We are excited to be a part of this scholarship for the Baldwin County community,” said Colonel (Retired) Nelson Kraft, Executive Director of GMC, Lake Country Region. “We know that education is the foundation of a strong community and we are proud to be able to offer hope and opportunity for Milledgeville-Baldwin County’s future leaders.”

Recipients of the 2021 GMC Baldwin County Graduate Scholarship will receive a GMC Scholarship that covers 50% of tuition, books, and fees after financial aid is applied for two years. The students receiving this honor are:

• Nominated by John Milledge Academy:
o Javian Brookins
o Aiden Fain
o Landon Burney

Based on the outpouring of applicants this year for the GMC Baldwin County Graduate Scholarship, GMC President Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV approved an additional one-time scholarship for the remaining applicants. This new scholarship, the GMC Hope & Opportunity Scholarship, awards $1,000 per academic year for two years. The students receiving this honor are:

GMC will welcome these students to campus after their graduations this month and look forward to the positive contributions they will make in the classroom and in the community.
