GMC Welcomes Commander of the Seventh Coast Guard District
Georgia Military College Welcomes Commander of the Seventh Coast Guard District,
Rear Admiral Eric C. Jones
On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, Rear Admiral Eric C. Jones will visit Georgia Military College to speak to members of the 142nd Corps of Cadets. The Rear Admiral serves as Commander of the Seventh Coast Guard District headquartered in Miami, Florida.
As District Commander, he is responsible for all Coast Guard operations in the Southeast United States and the Caribbean Basin, including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Seventh District encompasses an area of 1.8 million square miles and shares operational borders with 34 foreign nations and territories.
His personal awards include four Legions of Merit, four Meritorious Service Medals, four Coast Guard Commendation Medals, the Coast Guard Achievement Medal, the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation Ribbon, and various service and unit awards.
On Wednesday, Jones will speak to the Corps about the story and mission of the U.S. Coast Guard.
