GMC and Columbus Technical College Sign Articulation Agreement

In the spirit of academic cooperation, Georgia Military College (GMC) and Columbus Technical College (CTC) signed an articulation agreement Thursday, January 16, 2020 at CTC. The two institutions entered into a transfer Articulation Agreement in support of Complete College Georgia to assist and promote the transferability of courses from the CTC Associate of Applied Science degrees to the GMC Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degrees.

Any student who graduates from CTC with an Associate of Applied Science degree and has at least 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) of technical/occupational credit accepted as transfer credit by GMC is guaranteed admission into one of GMC’s BAS degree programs, as appropriate to the earned AAS degree. Students will have the opportunity to pursue a BAS degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, or Supervision and Management.

“GMC’s Bachelor of Applied Science degree programs are designed to prepare students for career advancement opportunities and supervisory and management roles in their technical or occupational field,” said Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell IV, President of Georgia Military College. “We are excited to enter into this partnership with Columbus Technical College, so that graduates from their school will go on to complete their BAS degree with us at GMC. Having a college degree, especially a Bachelor degree, is so important. Our goal is for this agreement is to make the transition as smooth as possible for students to continue their education.”

This agreement formally recognizes that GMC and CTC are committed to the establishment of an educational partnership to better serve past, currently enrolled and future students at both institutions, as well as, support economic development in the communities served by these educational institutions.

“Columbus Technical College is honored to partner with Georgia Military College to provide additional degree transfer opportunities for our students so they may continue their education,” said Dr. Kermelle Hensley, Vice President of Academic Affairs for Columbus Technical College. “The fact that students earning associate degrees from 30 different program areas will have the chance to seamlessly further their education is absolutely incredible.  We are so excited for this collaboration and the path it’s forging for the future.”
