GMC Coach wins 150th game
Georgia Military College Coach Wins 150th Game as College Head Coach
Coach Bert Williams has been a household name at Georgia Military College for many years. Serving as the GMC Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, Williams opened the 2019 football season with not only a win against Navarro College, but his 150th career win as a College Head Coach, making him the 19th Coach in NJCAA history to win 150 games. He is also currently number two on the list of wins by active coaches.
Williams says this accolade has been a team effort.
“Consistency with our staff has been a big part of our success,” Williams said. “We have very good coaches that come and stay because they realize quickly GMC is a unique place, and they can coach great talent, while making a difference in the lives of these student athletes. We have a great recruiting base here in Georgia and we are constantly working to build on a tremendous foundation of success that started with Coach Robert Nunn back in the early 90s.”
Proud is the word Williams says describes his team and coaches best, and Williams says he’s humbled to run the Athletic program at GMC.
“I’m proud of this recognition because it sheds a light on the work of many who have contributed to our program, and I’m humbled to have the opportunity to run this program long enough to get to this point,” Williams said. “I’m thankful for the support of the GMC administration under General Boylan when I started here, and now for the continued support of General Caldwell, and our current administration. But most importantly, I’m grateful for the support of my wife Cathy, and our sons, Parker and Zach. I could never have gotten this far without their love and support.”
Congratulations to Coach Bert Williams on his 150th career win as a College Head Coach!
