GMC Celebrates 50 Years in Augusta
A message from Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, President of Georgia Military College

At Georgia Military College (GMC), we understand that all great success stories begin with an opportunity, and we’re proud to celebrate 50 years of being an opportunity provider in Augusta!

It has been a true blessing to see so many students from our Augusta campus start with the opportunities provided at GMC and use them as a springboard for creating rich and fulfilling lives for themselves and their families.

The mission of Georgia Military College is to produce educated citizens and contributing members of society in an environment conducive to the development of the intellect and character of its students. And all over the greater-Augusta area, men and women with GMC degrees are hard at work making their community a better place. There’s no greater joy than hearing their success stories and knowing our mission is being accomplished one student at a time.

Students who earn degrees at GMC-Augusta go on to become teachers like 2016 graduate Alaina Smith who now teaches history at Grovetown High School. They care for our great veterans at the Augusta V.A. like Tina Marie Cooper who became one of our first 20 Bachelor of Applies Science (B.A.S) graduates in 2019. And there are thousands more just like them throughout the area using their passion, and expertise to raise up their communities.

Our graduates have developed important skills that help drive Augusta’s industries. Some have discovered a love for the arts that helps keep Augusta’s cultural offerings thriving. All of them have received the sort of character education that makes them great neighbors, family members, and friends.

Our celebration of 50 years in Augusta is a celebration of you and the entire Augusta community because you’re the ones who made it possible. Without the overwhelming support we’ve received from the community, we would not have been able provide the innumerable opportunities which are helping to make Augusta one of the finest cities in America.

Thank you for every ounce of support you’ve given us over the years. We will do our very best to keep making Augusta proud over the next 50 years!
