Congressman Jody Hice Joins GMC Prep Student for U.S. Military Academy Signing

Georgia Military College Prep School is excited to announce that senior Anna Caldwell has been appointed to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). On Friday, May 3, 2019, Congressman Jody Hice joined Caldwell in a signing ceremony.

Caldwell says she’s excited for a new adventure.

“The Air Force Academy really suits my personality,” Caldwell said. “I’m excited to branch out and try something new. I’m going to make my own way, my own path, and that’s really exciting. It’s awesome to know that all my hard work to get to this point has paid off. I’m so excited to start school at the U.S. Air Force Academy.”

Earlier this school year, Caldwell also received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where her brother, Will, currently attends. Their father, and President of Georgia Military College, Lieutenant General William B. Caldwell, IV, is also a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Caldwell is the first GMC Prep School student to earn appointments from two U.S. Service Academies. Colonel Pam Grant, Principal of GMC Prep School, says she couldn’t be more proud of the hard work Caldwell has put in.

“Anna is a true testament to what a young person can achieve if they take advantage of the top-quality education and opportunities we provide at GMC Prep School,” Grant Said. “She embodies all of the character traits we seek to instill in our students, and I know that she is destined for great things, but more importantly, I know that Anna will make a true difference in the lives of everyone she encounters on the next stage of her journey.”
