4-year Army ROTC Scholarships awarded to GMC Prep School students

(Cadets Nick Trussell, Zach Spiler, and David Sheppard have been awarded 4-year Army ROTC Scholarships)

On March 16, GMC Prep seniors David Sheppard, Zach Spiler, and Nick Trussell were awarded 4-year Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) scholarships and signed their offer letters to continue a post-secondary education at the school of their choice.

David Sheppard received the Ike Skeleton ROTC Scholarship at GMC. As a recipient of this scholarship, Sheppard will spend two years in the Early Commissioning Program as part of GMC’s Cadet Corps and another two years in the Education Assistant Program at a 4-year college or university. While attending GMC, he plans to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science. He also plans to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at Mercer University. Sheppard has been a student in GMC’s Prep School for seven years and was a member of the Male Raider Team.

Zach Spiler and Nick Trussell received national 4-year Army ROTC Scholarships and they both plan to attend Clemson University. Spiler, a GMC Prep student for seven years who was a member of the Raider and baseball teams, is looking forward to majoring in Biology. His goal is to become an anesthesiologist. Spiler’s classmate, Nick Trussell, plans to major in nursing to become a nurse anesthetist. He also plans to serve in the Army Reserves and give back to his community. Trussell has been a student in GMC’s Prep school for seven years and was a member of the Raider and basketball teams.
