GMC Cadet accepted to The Military College of South Carolina
(Cadet Donnetta Battle has been accepted to The Citadel.)
GMC’s Junior College Cadet, Donnetta Battle, is furthering her education at The Military College of South Carolina, commonly referred to as The Citadel. The 19-year-old Cadet from Phenix City, Alabama says she’s excited to expand on her military career.
“The reason I wanted to attend The Citadel is because I wanted a military career and I didn’t really know where to start,” said Cadet Donnetta Battle. “So I found GMC at first for a head start and then my recruiter told me about The Citadel and how good of a school it is. I was hesitant at first, but then as I looked into it I thought it would be a good opportunity for me.”
Battle enrolled at GMC in 2015. She’s a member of GMC’s color guard and was also on the rifle team. Battle says her time at GMC greatly prepared her to take the next step in life.
“The leadership, integrity, and education here at GMC gave me a head start and boosted my confidence,” said Battle. “I’m ready for this amazing journey. I believe everything happens for a reason, this is my fate.”
Battle is currently studying Criminal Justice at Georgia Military College and will continue her criminal justice studies at The Citadel in August.
