GMC Prep Teacher MAJ Clay McElheny receives grant from Tri County EMC

MAJ Clay McElheny was presented with a check by Tri County EMC as part of their Bright Ideas Campaign. Tri County uses unclaimed credits to help teachers improve education in their classrooms through innovative projects that would otherwise not be funded. Georgia teachers apply in grades Pre-K through 12th in Baldwin, Jones, Putnam, Twiggs, and Wilkinson Counties for grants. Clay applied for a grant that will help implement new STEM ideas by using technology in a physics classroom while teaching circuits. Clay was surprised in class by Kim Bonner with Tri County EMC and presented with a check. GMC Principal COL John Thornton said, “We are thrilled that Tri County EMC recognizes teaching excellence here at GMC Prep.”
