Prep Raiders earn high marks at Best Raider Competition

Congratulations to the GMC Raiders for an OUTSTANDING performance this weekend at the Best Raider Competition! The weather was perfect; 50 degrees and raining! The Best Raider competition is modeled after the Army’s Best Ranger Competition. Teams are comprised of two competitors each and are scored individually. There were 24 schools and 64 teams competing in three divisions; male, female, and mixed. A GMC Prep Team placed in the top 3 of each division in all 6 events. Overall, GMC Prep brought home 40% of the awards! Female Division: Molly Jones and Abigail Kirkland placed 1st in EVERY event and won 1st place overall! Madison Waddell and Emily Arnold placed 2nd in the 1 mile log carry Mixed Division: Liam Fairbrass and Emma Mercer placed 2nd in 3 mile run, 1 mile log carry, and 1 mile ruck run and placed 3rd overall! Jeff Connor and Caitlin Settle placed 1st in the obstacle course. Male Division: Caleb Litke and Jared Sowell placed: 1st in physical team test, 2nd log carry, ruck run, obstacle course, and tire flip. Overall they finished 2nd in the male division. Andrew Kirkland and Chase Sheffield placed 2nd in 3mile run, and 3rd in the log carry.
