GMC gets big win against Snow College 42-21

The GMC Defense carried the Bulldogs in the first half until the Bulldog offense found its stride and the Bulldogs came away with a 42-21 win against #5 Snow College (Utah). The games first score came on an interception return by GMC’s Alex Brown for a 7-0 GMC lead. One drive and one big play by Snow in the second quarter however put the game at 14-7 in Snow College’s favor. The Bulldog Offense struggled with finding its stride in the first half and the defense was wearing down with nearly 40 snaps in the first half. The second half was a different story however, and it came about in a most unlikely manner. GMC’s starting quarterback, Dylan Shaddix was knocked out of the game on the first drive of the second half and carried off the field. The offense, with its back against the wall, found a way to wake up and mounted a furious ground attack with a motivated offensive line and a timely fake punt that kept the drive alive. Freshman running back Jamal Tyler had 9 rushes for 68 yards and three touchdowns and reserve quarterback Mike Roberts went 6 or 11 for 132 yards and a TD as the GMC Offense went on a 35-0 run in the second half en route to a 42-21 victory on Davenport Field. GMC returns to action Thursday night against NC Tech at 6pm on Davenport Field.
