Haley Spires - (CotW) Courage and Commitment

Georgia Military College Prep School recognizes Haley Spires for earning the Character of the Week Award in demonstrating the virtue of Courage and Commitment. “I would like to nominate Haley Spires as a student athlete for character of the week for the virtues of courage and commitment. Haley is a 9th grader and is a member of the high school girls’ varsity soccer team. She is the freshman who had the courage to come out for the team even though she had never played soccer before. Haley never misses practices and gives 100 percent in every drill and activity I ask the team to do. After just 3 short weeks of practice, she gained a starting position on the team for our first game. Haley is quiet and unassuming and shows good character traits on a daily basis. As an example, she was asked to be a ball runner for our boys 1st home game and found herself working on the sidelines for 2 hours in barely 40 degree temperatures and never complained. Haley always maintains a positive attitude about herself and her teammates. She is a joy to have on the team and truly exemplifies the characteristics of an athlete and a GMC cadet.” Nominated on February 25, 2010 by MAJ Linda Brown HS Mathematics Dept Varsity Soccer Coach
