Hale finishes T-13 at national championships

Hale finishes T-13 at national championships (Chautauqua, N.Y.) – Georgia Military College JC golfer Jordon Hale put together four rounds in the 70s last week at the NJCAA D-III National Golf Championships, finishing tied for 13th at 11-over. The tournament, held at the Chautauqua Golf Club, was a week-long event featuring the best D-III golfers in the nation. The top 20 finish was a goal for Hale. “He wanted to be an All-American,” GMC JC head golf coach Sonny Harmon said. “That was his goal for the week. Finishing in the top 20 gives him that. He is now an All-American.” Hale started the tournament with a 1-over 73, putting him in sixth place after day one. A 77 on day two dropped him to T-17, and a third-round 76 put him in 16th. Hale ended the tournament with another 73, good for T-13. “He could have easily shot 68 in the third round,” Harmon said. “I followed him around that whole day. He played better than his score showed.” Two other GMC JC golfers finished in the top 100. Derek Sears shot 90, 75, 83, and 78 to finish T-71. Jacob McLemore shot 84, 78, 90, and 83 to finish T-81.
