High School Regional Science Fair Winners

Georgia Military College High School students competed in the Regional Science Fair held at Georgia College & State University on Saturday, February 7, 2009. Congratulations to GMC High School First Place Winners who will compete in the State Science Fair at the University of Georgia in April: Alex Byrne and Anna Byrne – “Will Resistance Training Have the Same Physiological Effects as Cardio in a Set of Identical Twins?” Alex and Anna also both won special awards from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Geovic Jadol – “Does Big Red Chewing Gum Inhibit the Growth Rate of Bacteria?” Brad Etheridge and John Grant – “Antibacterial Resistance.” Congratulations to GMC High School Second Place Winners who will also compete in the State Science Fair: Blake Brown and Ray Mosley – “Does the Temperature of a Paintball Affects its Accuracy?” Spence Tyson – “Which Layered Golf Ball Works Best for Distance?" Leanne Harbor and Murphie Dunn – “Does age and Gender Affect Relative Pitch?” Congratulations to GMC High School Third Place Winners: Tyler Easterly – “Gas Power vs. Electric Hovercraft” Donovan Haslam and Abby Giddens – “Coliform Counts in Drinking Water for Baldwin County.”
