JCFB Defeats VSU
IN a rain soaked Thursday night game, GMC pulled away early and rode the lead to the finish at 34-7 against visiting Valdosta State University JV. Sophomore Chris Hart moved the offense exceptionally well on the first two possessions as he both rushed and passed for large parts of both drives. Tobias Palmer capped off the first drive with a 6yd score and Antonio Danzy hauled in a 36 yard pass for the second. Freshman Tony Guidugle took over for most of the second half and did some impressive running on his own as well as passing the ball effectively for the Bulldogs. Carlos Ross capped off the nights scoring with a 7 yard punch into the endzone with just under two minutes to play. The Bulldog Defense started off a little shaky against the VSU Blazer attack, allowing the visitors to take their first possession down the field for a score. Turnovers down deep stopped the next two Blazer drives and the defense settled in and stifled the Blazers the rest of the way. Freshman Antonio Mitchum added a score for the defense with a nifty interception return for a touchdown and the secondary shut shut down the Blazer aerial assault. GMC returns to action next Saturday at 2pm on Davenport Field against Louisburg College (5-1).
