Character of the Week – Mackenzie Theus

Character of the Week – Mackenzie Theus Mackenzie Theus – 10th Grade Nominated by Major Leigh Scott Mackenzie Theus without a doubt should be nominated for Character Student of the Week because I witnessed this cadet doing the “right” thing at the “right” time while other cadets just stood there and watched. This week I was tasked with the job of overseeing the Snack Bar and since it was extremely busy, one of the workers behind the counter leaned over to drop one of the Hoagie sandwiches onto the shelf. However, the sandwich flipped out of the plastic container and made a huge mess whereupon the worker just shrugged his shoulders and walked off. Had it not been for Mackenzie’s sense of initiative to do the right thing I daresay the mess would have sat there for the duration of second lunch shift. Mackenzie armed with her bare hands cleaned up the entire mess (shredded lettuce and sliced tomatoes) while other cadets only watched. No one chipped in to help and I truly admire this terrific young lady for her willingness to pitch in and help out. Thank goodness we have such awesome cadets here that put into practice what they learn at home with what we teach here in the way of character traits.
